It’s my pleasure to welcome you to Pleasant Springs Books!

Pleasant Springs Books strives to provide stories and activities that pique children’s interest in the world. Each book, including the back matter and activities on the website, is designed to encourage children to explore S.T.E.M., art, and how we react to the world around us.

Author & Illustrator Amy Dydynski

I grew up in Boise, Idaho, spending most of my time outdoors camping, fishing, and riding horses.  I never dreamt I would be an author!  I’m dyslexic, so reading and writing did not come easily to me in my childhood; honestly, I dreaded reading when I was young. It wasn’t until my twenties that reading became enjoyable. I especially loved snuggling up with each of my four children and reading their favorite books each night!

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.  I had a fantastic twenty-year career in aerospace engineering and had the opportunity to work on international projects worldwide! These experiences resulted in a love of learning about other cultures, including their cuisine

At the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, my family started a food truck, where Gram Gram’s food truck inspiration comes from. It was so much fun to meet the different food truck owners and hear about the cultures and families from which their food came! 

I love writing children's books and creating engaging activities that can be enjoyed in classrooms or at home with your kids. I find immense joy in sparking curiosity and imagination in young minds.
